Bridget Jones navigates life as a widow and single mum with the help of her family, friends, and former lover, Daniel. Back to work and on the apps, she's pursued by a younger man and maybe – just maybe – her son's science teacher.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy Review

‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ Brings Renée Zellweger’s Dauntless Heroine Back in Winning Form. Despite being dispatched straight to streaming domestically, this latest outing for Helen Fielding’s character is a charming delight. Premiering on Peacock on February 13th, ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ marks the fourth outing for the ever-hopeful Bridget, brought to screens as always by Renée Zellweger.

And thankfully, despite the worrying sign of it being sent directly to a streaming service here (it’s in theaters internationally), this is a superior entry in the franchise spawned from Helen Fielding’s columns, eventual books and first on our screens way back in 2001.

Bridget Jones Collection

Bridget Jones is a franchise based on the fictional columnist with the same name. English writer Helen Fielding started her Bridget Jones’s Diary column in The Independent in 1995, chronicling the life of Bridget Jones as a thirtysomething single woman in London as she tries to make sense of life and love with the help of a surrogate «urban family» of friends in the 1990s.
